N is for Nightmare
N is for Nightmare is a set of three ABC pop-up accordion books that began as an attempt to archive my dreams beginning in 2016. Soon it evolved into an effort to alphabetize and sort through these uncanny and uncomfortable experiences. The monsters in these books do not appear as characters of terror, but instead are represented as friends, comrades, and lovers. Through that act of compassionate representation, this series catalogs my attempts to come to peace with these monsters of my own creation and can be conceptualized as an act of self love.
